Snoqualmie Police have made an arrest in a suspected child luring case in North Bend, the agency reported Thursday.
The arrest comes after a resident reported to police on July 24 that a man at Torguson Park attempted to have her 5-year-old son walk away with him after giving him a toy, the police said. The suspected man allegedly fled the scene on a bike down the Snoqualmie Valley Trail after bystanders intervened. Police say the man was booked into jail on Aug. 24.
“Without the quick actions of the witness, and the help of a citizen who recognized the subject riding his bicycle near Si View Park, this case likely would have a very different conclusion,” Snoqualmie Police Captain Brian Lynch said in a statement. “We are grateful for the public’s assistance.”
