North Bend woman crashes into house, stream

A woman suspected of drinking and driving drove her car into a stream and collided with a house near North Bend during a late-night drive last weekend. The 53-year-old North Bend woman called 9-1-1 just after midnight Saturday, Dec. 4, to report that she'd been in a collision. The woman didn't know exactly where she was, but told police she'd taken an exit off I-90 near between mileposts 30 and 31. She said her vehicle was partially in a ditch near a waterfall. Washington State Patrol officers used the enhanced wireless 9-1-1 system to determine the woman's approximate location at the time of her call. They located the woman in a residential area several miles from the interstate. She appeared to have backed into a home before driving the vehicle off the road into a stream.
