Laura “DD” Pillo, 90, died peacefully at her Bothell home October 5, 2021. Born in 1931 in Havre, Montana, Laura preferred her childhood nickname, DD. In 1937 DD’s parents, Bill and Cary Testu, moved the family to North Bend. DD graduated from Mt. Si High School in 1949. She served in the Air Force and worked in telecommunications. DD met her husband Tony at the North Bend IGA store where he was the meat manager. They married in 1954 and had four children. In 1970 Tony became manager at Cascade Golf Course (now South Fork Landing Park). Tony and DD were married 42 years until his death in 1996. DD is survived by her two older brothers, Jean and Bob. Other survivors include her children Joe Pillo, Cary Lassen (Jim), Mary Bogard (Bruce) and Tim Pillo (Kathleen) along with eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Loving and kind, DD taught her children the art of making homemade ravioli and pizzelle which she had learned from Tony’s Mother.
