Pancake Breakfast

The Snoqualmie Fire Association is holding its annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser from 7 to 11 a.m. Aug. 19. The event is the same day as Snoqualmie’s Railroad Days Festival.

The nonprofit fire association helps support the Snoqualmie Fire Department with special equipment purchases as well as community events, fire education, human services support, high school scholarship and maintenance of the department’s historic fire engine.

The breakfast event provides a firefighter-cooked pancake and ham breakfast as well as Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Starbucks coffee, juice and other beverages served in the apparatus and equipment bay at the fire station, 37600 SE Snoqualmie Parkway.

The event is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for those under 5. There will also be a $2-per-ticket raffle for small items under $100 and a silent auction for larger prizes.

Charity golf

The 30th annual Mt. Si Classic Charity Golf Tournament swings into action later this month. Golfers will tee-off at the Mount Si Golf Club at 8 a.m. Aug. 28.

The tournament is the biggest yearly fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Snoqualmie Valley. Each year, proceeds from the tournament, alongside two other fundraisers, are pooled together and invested back into the community through grants.

In April, the club donated $33,000 to 21 community groups and nonprofits, including Encompass NW, CarePoint Clinic, Mount Si Band and more.

“Every dollar we get in our pockets goes back into the community,” said Alicia Messa, a Rotary member.

Alongside the tournament, there will also be prizes for closest to the pin, longest drive and hole-in-ones. Each hole will be sponsored by a local business, featuring a different theme or game.

“It’s fun to see the personality of each business coming out,” Messa said. “You never know what you’re going to get.”

Tournament registration costs $180 for a single player and $720 per foursome. Tickets also include lunch.
