The Mount Si High School top-ranked boys basketball team won the 4A state championship with a 72-58 victory over Richland High School on March 2 at the Tacoma Dome.
With an overall season record of 27-2, the Wildcats won their first state title since 2020 after advancing to the WIAA championship in four of the past five seasons.
Mount Si senior Trevor Hennig scored 28 points with nine rebounds and six assists in the game vs. Richland, while seniors Blake Forrest and Jack Taylor each scored 17 points apiece.
Leading up to the championship game, the Wildcats won their tournament matchups against Kentwood (83-62), Tahoma (71-53) and Davis (57-45).
“We believe if we play our game … no one can beat us,” Hennig told SBLive. “We believe we can beat anyone.”
