Small Business Saturday and contest: Small Business Saturday is a national holiday following Black Friday that encourages consumers to spend their dollars at small businesses. To promote shopping small this year, the SnoValley Chamber of Commerce is hiding wooden bear ornaments in local businesses. Find an ornament for a chance at winning a prize. Novelty Hill tree lighting: Novelty Hill Farm’s annual tree lighting will include a holiday sing-a-long, warm beverages, campfire smores, a holiday market and Santa. Music will be provided by the Cedarcrest High School and Tolt Middle School choirs. From 5-7:30 p.m. Tickets are $9.50, or free for those age 5 and under, and can be purchased at noveltyhillfarm.com.
Dec. 1
Salish Lodge tree lighting: Salish Lodge & Spa, in partnership with Encompass NW, will host its annual tree lighting, complete with hot chocolate, treats, children’s activities and Santa. From 5-7 p.m.
Sno-Skate Lane Holiday Skating: Sno-King Ice Arena in Snoqualmie will host its annual Sno-Skate Lane holiday-themed public skating from Dec. 1-Jan. 1. The rink will be open to all ages and skills. Go to snokingicearenas.com for more information and to buy tickets.

Barzen’s Blooms chandelier workshop: Barzen’s Blooms, a floral shop in Carnation, is hosting a holiday foliage chandelier workshop at Lavender at Stillwater – Misty Valley Farm from 6-7:30 p.m. All supplies are provided. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased through barzensblooms.com.

Art Major studio opening: Art Major will have a ribbon cutting cerermony for its new downtown Snoqualmie location. Founded in California, Art Major provides the space and all the materials for kids — and sometimes adults — to get their creative juices flowing. The company hosts open crafting time, camps and other gatherings. Join Snoqualmie owner Anne Williams for refreshments and lite bites at 4 p.m. Forever Yours will also be on site providing permanent jewelry.
Dec. 6
A Christmas Carol: Valley Center Stage, a nonprofit performing arts group in North Bend, is putting on multiple productions of Charles Dickens’s “A Christmas Carol” from Dec. 6-22. Tickets start at $20, with discounts for seniors, military, students and kids. Valley Center Stage also has “pay what you will” Thursdays, where tickets start at $0. Duvall tree lighting: Light Up Duvall will take place in downtown Duvall starting at 6 p.m. It is recommended to line up on Main Street before 6 p.m. to see Santa and Mrs. Claus “light up Duvall.” Then, join them at Depot Park for the tree lighting, holiday performances and photos.
Photography exhibit opening: Scott Rinckenberger Photography in downtown North Bend will open its new exhibit “You Are Here: Snoqualmonix” with a reception. Rickenberger’s new collection is made of photo pairings that highlight his love for backcountry skiing and snowboarding on Snoqualmie Pass. Each pairing includes one image of a person sliding on the snow and a second image focused on the location of the first. The opening is from 5-9 p.m. The show runs until April.
