Tolt Congregational United Church of Christ holds an annual Pancake Breakfast in conjunction with the Valley’s big patriotic day.

Breakfast is served from 8 to 11 a.m. at the church, located at 4851 Tolt Avenue, on the corner of Tolt Avenue and Rutherford..

Prices are $6 for adults, $5 for seniors, $5 for children ages 4 to 12, free for children age 3 and younger.

To Go express meals will be available from 8:45 to 11 a.m. for those who wish to grab an early spot on the parade route.

Proceeds from the breakfast support the Good Neighbor Fund, an emergency assistance fund that helps community members who find themselves in a short term crisis. The fund gives assistance with heating bills and utilities, grocery or gas vouchers. With the current economic climate, requests for assistance are at an all time high. The community’s generosity is much appreciated by the church.

Senior spaghetti

Delores Ulrich and Margaret Denton are famous for their spaghetti sauce and they are ready to treat diners once again, 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sno Valley Senior Center. Choose from a meat or vegetarian sauce, served with garlic bread and green salad with greens grown in our Valley. The meal is sponsored by Ken and Marty Masden. Cost is $5 for kids, $10 for adults.

Berry Shortcake

The annual kick-off of summer in the Snoqualmie Valley is the senior center’s famous strawberry shortcake sale, 10 a.m, to 2 p.m. during the Carnation festivities.

The just-baked shortcake features donated Remlinger Farms strawberries, and real whipped cream donated by Organic Valley. The center also offers a “quiet room”, with access to a bathroom, if you and your small children need a break.

Visitors to the center can also win a gorgeous handmade quilt. Time is quickly running out for a chance to win the “Scrappy Diamonds” quilt, lovingly handcrafted by the quilting club. Tickets are on sale at the center with the drawing to be held at 2 p.m. on the 4th of July.
