A crew from Railroad Signal Services, headquartered in Nebraska, places a cantilever over North Bend Way, just east of where the road intersects 394th Place Southeast, that is part of a new railroad signal. The city of North Bend and the Northwest Railway Museum partnered with each other to win a $250,000 grant from the federal government to replace the aging signal, originally installed in the 1940s. The new signal has twice the number of lights as the old one. The new signal was installed Friday, April 26, and it features crossing arms that come down to prevent motorists from crossing the tracks when a train is near.
