Just to clarify the article in the Aug. 8 Valley Record, the subject of the business discussed by King County Fire District 38 was the EMS (emergency medical services) levy on King County’s Medic One that will be coming up for renewal.

Myself and others attended the public meeting and it was felt by both elected officials and citizens that King County should include the EMS levy in basic government services rather than a special levy. One major city made a motion to not approve another special levy for EMS.

I feel that the government should spend tax dollars for required services before spending those dollars in wasteful ways.
