Mount Si’s track and field team saw mixed results at last weekend’s state 3A boys’ and girls’ track and field meets in Tacoma.

The final regular season meet for the Mount Si track and field team proved to be a good one last Thursday, May 6, as the Wildcat girls rolled to an easy win and the Mount Si boys barely missed making it a sweep, falling by just one point in the three-team competition against Valley rival Cedarcrest and league rival Mercer Island.
The goal of the 2010 Mount Si boys soccer team, especially their seniors, was simple: Win the first-ever league title in school history for boys soccer, and make state. They had to fight through some adversity through the course of this season, and again in last Thursday’s, May 6, game against the Juanita Rebels, but timely goals and solid defense helped seal up a piece of Valley sports history.
Many local kids are finding success in the sport of baseball, whether it be on Mount Si High School teams, Little League clubs, or summer squads. But for one local teen, he is finding success in the sport in a different way: as an arbiter.
