The recent success of Mount Si High School’s volleyball program has fueled the growth of a local volleyball club, and that growth isn’t just with the girls, either.
Mount Si’s boys basketball team had a dream, to be the first Wildcat team to make the state tournament since 2006. This group worked very hard throughout the year, but knew that getting there through the SeaKing Tournament would be a very tough challenge. After February 25th’s loss against Franklin, that reality hit home for Mount Si, and last Tuesday night, March 1, it hit home once again, as O’Dea used hot shooting from outside to crush the hopes of the Wildcats and especially their stellar senior class.
The Mount Si wrestling team saw its season come to a stunning conclusion at the Mat Classic February 19 in Tacoma, as all five wrestlers were quickly eliminated from the state 3A competition.
Mount Si’s boys basketball team gave a very good Franklin squad a tough test in the first half of tonight’s SeaKing Tournament quarterfinal game at Bellevue College. The Quakers, though, proved to be better in the second half, and now the Wildcats find themselves fighting for their state tournament lives.
The Mount Si Wildcats girls basketball team has seen highs and lows this season, and that was the case again last Tuesday, February 22, as they hosted a first-round loser out game in the SeaKing District Tournament. The Wildcats struggled in the first half, but mounted a spirited rally in the second half. When all was said and done, though, that was not enough, and Mount Si’s season came to an end.
The Wildcat girls basketball team was part of the program’s most memorable moment in years last week, and it helped them earn a 3rd place finish at the Kingco Tournament.

Mount Si’s gymnastics team for the second straight year finished fourth at the team competition at the state 3A gymnastics meet in Tacoma last Friday, February 19.
The Mount Si wrestling team will have a strong delegation at this weekend’s Mat Classic, after the Wildcats fared very well at the regional meet held last Saturday, February 13 at Liberty High School.
Mount Si’s girls basketball team over the past couple of weeks has learned some big lessons out of some key games. Those lessons proved to be valuable in the end, as the Wildcats stayed focused, and used solid free-throw shooting, to score a big Kingco home win which greatly improved their playoff chances.
