The Chief Kanim Middle School PTSA is helping make garden shopping a snap, with its upcoming sale of hanging flower baskets — just in time for Mother’s Day.

The Chief Kanim Middle School PTSA is helping make garden shopping a snap, with its upcoming sale of hanging flower baskets — just in time for Mother’s Day.

The school booster group is partnering with Squak Mountain Nursery in Issaquah to sell the same plants that are grown in their nursery. Plants are grown in 10-inch cedar baskets, planted to retain moisture. Colors are assorted and each basket is a single color. Choice include fuchsia (shade loving), geranium (sun or part sun) or trailing petunia (full sun). Each basket is $30 and proceeds will go to fund curriculum-related teacher grants at Chief Kanim. Order deadline is Thursday, May 1. Order forms and photos of the baskets can be found online at the CKMS Web site (www.ckms.svsd410.org) by clicking on the “PTSA” link, then on the photos. Forms can be dropped off at Chief Kanim or Fall City Elementary offices, or mailed to CKMS PTSA, c/o Maggie Grate, 35821 SE 49th St., Fall City, WA 98024. Pick up date is Thursday, May 8, from noon to 6:30 p.m., at CKMS. Baskets need to be picked up by 2 p.m. Friday, May 9. The PTSA offers free delivery in the Valley for orders of 10 or more to the same location. To learn more, call Maggie Grate at (425) 222-4732, Liz Phillips at (425) 441-8123, or e-mail to phillipsclb@comcast.net or maggiegrate@comcast.net.
