Business owners can fill vacant positions, and job seekers can find good jobs in the Valley, through the upcoming, first-ever Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce Job Fair.

Business owners can fill vacant positions, and job seekers can find good jobs in the Valley, through the upcoming, first-ever Snoqualmie Valley Chamber of Commerce Job Fair.

The Chamber is currently seeking business participants for the event, planned for noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Mount Si High School.

The fair will include tables for businesses, and a designated interview area for candidates to meet prospective employers. Job seekers can e-mail resumes to the chamber, at SVJobFair@comcast.net, for distribution to vendors on the day of the event.

Chamber Executive Director Karen Granger said the fair is drawing a surprising number of companies, from the Valley and beyond.

Companies “know that we have good people here,” she said. “They want to tap into our good people.”

A wide range of companies, from outside the Valley, including manufacturer ZETEC of Issaquah, as well as local organizations including the Snoqualmie Valley School District, Snoqualmie Casino, and the cities of North Bend and Snoqualmie, are anticipated to be at the job fair.

Employers are seeking a wide variety of skill sets, including retail workers at the Factory Stores at North Bend, hourly workers at Nintendo, and many other areas.
