Two Timing Tam’s, a consignment shop for home furnishings and apparel for children and adults, opened in North Bend last month.
The business was formerly The Lost Mitten, a consignment shop exclusively for children. Inventory in the shop’s reincarnation includes apparel and accessories for newborns through teens, as well as home furnishings from Mignone Interiors in Snoqualmie. Shoppers will find all sorts of items including artwork, bedding, candles, jewelry, games and books.
“It’s sort of like a miniature department store or a giant treasure box,” said owner Tamara Phelps. “It is our goal to provide superior consignor and customer service, as well as a pristine and varied inventory. We look forward to getting to know the residents and business owners in the Valley.”
Phelps’ husband, Chip, used his expertise as an accountant to install accounting-friendly Consignment Software in the store. The software enables consignors to see their credit balances grow as their items are sold and scanned out of inventory. Likewise, they will be able to view the items Phelps receives as they are scanned into inventory.
“If it’s a rainy day, they won’t have to wonder what’s new in the store. They can see it and come in if it’s that special item they’ve been longing for,” Phelps said.
The Phelps moved to the Valley from Tennessee in 2003 after Chip accepted a job in Seattle. The couple and their four children lived in North Bend for two years before moving to Snoqualmie Ridge to be closer to Seattle. Previously, the couple owned and operated a small real estate and property management company for condo conversions, medical office build-outs, multi-family complexes and single family dwellings.
