Tokul Glen, a small adult family home in the private Valley residence of Jean Swenson, will hold an open house for visitors from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24.
Staff will be on hand to give tours of the building and answer questions. Refreshments will be provided.
Tokul Glen is owned and operated by registered nurses, and all staff members have taken a program called Fundaments of Care and First Aid and CPR, which is required by the state. All staff takes a refresher class every two years, according to state requirements. The home specializes in helping seniors with dementia, diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease, with experience in all levels of elderly care.
The business provides care to four residents in private rooms. Families and residents are encouraged to furnish residents rooms with furniture, pictures and personal mementoes.
For added safety and security, Tokul Glen has a full house generator to ensure continuation of care in caseof a power outage, and also has a full house sprinkler system.
The property includes three acres of landscaped surroundings where residents can watch wildlife.
