New Seattle-North King County directory planned

Seattle-area business owners have relied on advertising in the

yellow pages for years. That hasn’t changed. But come September 2000,

Pacific Coast Publishing will publish the first-ever Seattle – North King County

Regional Telephone Directory, giving local merchants an additional,

low-cost marketing resource that could bring in even more business.

The new directory will be distributed to a geographic area that

reaches more than 500,000 households. Currently, US WEST Dex and GTE

publish four separate directories in the market that Pacific Coast

Publishing will cover with just one book.

Through a unique partnership with WorldPages.com, Pacific Coast

Publishing is also making yellow page history by providing a free

Internet Web page to every business listed in any Seattle directory, whether or

not they advertise in the new Seattle – North King County Regional

Telephone Directory. Web surfers can simply log onto

www.worldpages.com and enter a business name to view

a particular Web page, obtain driving directions or connect to the

business by phone through their computer.

Pacific Coast Publishing’s Regional Telephone Directory was

created 15 years ago in response to the rising cost of utility directory

advertising. Since its incorporation, the Regional Telephone Directory

has grown to be the largest independent directory publisher in the

Northwest. Today, their directories reach more than 10 million

consumers in 18 markets throughout Washington,

Oregon, Utah and Arizona. After the merger with Advanced

Communications Group, Inc., the coverage area will

add Texas, Oklahoma and California. The company will have 42 markets,

reaching more than 20 million consumers.

The Regional Telephone Directory offers some unique features,

including one single book holding the complete King County business

listings, in addition to the yellow pages; a single book covering both Seattle

and the Greater Eastside region (North King County); larger print _ easier

on the eyes, with many ads in full color; and money-saving coupons from

directory advertisers.

The Seattle – North King County Regional Telephone Directory

will cover the Seattle-area and Greater Eastside with one single book:

Vashon Island, Mercer Island, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond,

Edmonds, Lynnwood, Snohomish, Bothell, Issaquah, Woodinville, Duvall,

Carnation, Fall City, Snoqualmie and North Bend.
