North Bend provided 50 local businesses and organizations a slice of the city’s share of the federal CARES Act.
To date, the city has delivered 21 checks, totaling $84,100. Additional relief will be paid out as businesses compete eligibility requirements.
“It is the city’s intention to offer the best assistance we can during these challenging times,” North Bend Mayor Rob McFarland wrote in a press release.
The City Council authorized staff to accept grants or donations of money for the program, including from the state, county or other agencies. The city partnered with the SnoValley Chamber of Commerce to administer the process.
