North Bend’s Cleaning Authority saving time, cleaning green

When people tell Paul McMahon that their homes don’t have that ‘clean smell’ after his business makes a sweep through, he sighs with relief.

“One of the greatest compliments that I’ve received is that their house doesn’t smell ‘clean,’” McMahon said. The lack of potent odors means that McMahon’s North Bend Cleaning Authority has done its job right.

The residential cleaning company uses green-sealed chemicals that are environment, pet and child-friendly. McMahon employs reusable cleaning equipment that is washed, rather than thrown away everyday. And he works hard to make sure that there are no lingering chemical odors.

“For people in my generation, the paradigm was that if you walk in your house and it smells like pine or bleach, it’s got to be clean,” McMahon said.

However, many people don’t realize that some of the products that emit these smells aren’t good for their health or the environment.

Green appeal

In sales for the past 27 years, McMahon and his wife Stephanie, a lifelong resident of Fall City, were tired of working for others.

Both born and raised as “tree-hugging dirt worshippers,” they decided to open a business of their own. They looked at several options, including high-tech resale and tutoring, before choosing The Cleaning Authority. They saw an opportunity for daily operations, taking charge of their own lives and giving Valley residents more time to spend time in their community.

Buying the franchise in August, they opened their doors in November and have a growing clientele of 115 people, spanning from Redmond to North Bend.

Cleaning Authority is committed to using Green Seal Certified house cleaning chemicals, HEPA vacuums and microfibers throughout homes.

Preventing hardworking Valley residents from coming home to a second job of cleaning their homes, McMahon’s team cleans bathrooms, kitchens and eating areas, sleeping and living areas.

He called his company a way to enable people to do what they want to do with their time.

“With my services, Valley residents are now free to go out and revitalize the community — they become consumers when they want to be,” McMahon said.
