Salish Lodge & Spa has a new general manager, Rod Lapasin.
Now overseeing the daily operations of the lodge, Lapasin most recently acted as director of catering and conference services at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle.
“I feel very fortunate to join such a talented and dedicated team of hospitality professionals at the spectacular Salish Lodge & Spa,” said Lapasin. “I look forward to the respectful stewardship of this Washington state treasure, and to the future of surprises and enhancements in store.”
Bret Matteson, president of Columbia Hospitality, said that as seasoned veteran of the hospitality industry, Lapasin will be a great asset to the lodge.
As a member of the executive team at the Fairmont Olympic, Lapasin held several senior leadership positions throughout his more than 20 year tenure at the hotel, leading the strategic catering direction of the property’s multi-million dollar food and beverage operation.
Lapasin began his hospitality career with Hyatt Hotels in 1979, and joined Four Seasons Hotels in 1986 at the former Olympic Hotel. He transitioned back to the property when Fairmont Hotels & Resorts assumed management in 2004 and renamed the property The Fairmont Olympic Hotel.
A Seattle native, Lapasin resides in Bellevue with his wife Gail, their two college-aged children and a beloved Labrador retriever.
