Treasures in Heaven relocates to North Bend Outlet Mall

The new location, previously home to rue21, is expected to open on July 2.

The owners of Treasures in Heaven, a thrift store operating in Snoqualmie since 2020, recently announced the store’s move to the North Bend Outlet Mall.

“The main driving force was that because of where we are currently located, there are many people in this Valley that didn’t even know we exist,” Treasures in Heaven co-owner Don Baunsgard said. “We wanted more exposure, more space, and our parking lot is very slim.”

Baunsgard noted the increasing cost of rent at their current location led them to look elsewhere.

According to a May 22 Facebook post, the thrift shop announced that June 15 would be its last day at the Snoqualmie location.

“Then the fun begins with breaking down the store, packing it all up, and transporting it to the new location starting on June 17,” the post reads.

The thrift store’s mission is to sell used, quality donations and redistribute the proceeds to nonprofits in the area.

According to its website, Treasures in Heaven has donated $416,100 to nonprofits since 2020. Much of the money has gone toward building wells in Uganda with Planet Changer, led by Baunsgard’s wife and Treasures in Heaven co-owner Lena Baunsgard.

Treasures in Heaven held several sales in the days before the North Bend move to prepare and reduce their inventory.

“We dropped our prices to 50%, and everything was a dollar in the next few days. On the last day, everything was free,” Baunsgard said. “We call it a giving back to the community day.”

From now until their projected July 2 opening date, the Treasures in Heaven team will work to rebuild their shelving and displays in the new location and set up the store “so when you’re coming in, you can find exactly what you’re looking for.”

Baunsgard said working with the North Bend Outlet Mall has been “very easygoing.”

“A lot of beautiful things are happening,” he said. “We believe that as we take this next step that allows us to grow, we will be able to give away even more money to nonprofits and save more children by building more wells in Uganda.”

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Treasures in Heaven plans to open its doors on July 2 at 461 S. Fork Ave. SW Suite 421 H in North Bend.
