The newly proposed redistricting keeps the current school board at status quo and denies Snoqualmie our own seat on the school board.
The plan from the Superintendent’s office has been posted at svsd410.org/districtinfo/board/DirectorDistrictInfo.asp. This plan, rather than redraw director districts to allow Snoqualmie to finally have seats on the school board, actually divides the Snoqualmie area up into four pieces and allocates it to the status quo, the current seats on the board.
This not only assures that there will be no school board seat assigned to just Snoqualmie, as has been allowed for Fall City and North Bend for the last 10 years, but could ultimately result in significant imbalance across the school board impacting the entire district for many years to come. North Bend or Fall City residents could see a Snoqualmie resident representating them or vice versa. Snoqualmie is currently being represented by a Lake Alice resident.
