Letters | If you must make noise, support clubs

I would like to register my dismay and concern over the Snoqualmie Tribe’s decision to sell fireworks at the Casino. My first concern is the danger in which these high-powered “explosives” will put Valley homes, as well as the potential risk to users and bystanders. But my other concern is the loss of revenue to those service groups such as Kiwanis and Valley youth baseball, whose sale of safe and sane fireworks funds vital community projects.

I know first-hand of the good that the Kiwanis has done over the years, supporting the Key Club at Mount Si, funding veterans programs, the community food bank and many other local charities.

Next year if you really need to make a lot of noise on the Fourth of July , think locally…and hopefully, safely.
