The annual Duvall Outdoor Quilt Show, “A Festival of Color” returns to Duvall’s Main Street from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30.
This year’s event, the 16th annual is free to the public and features live music and a few special indoor events, too.
The show’s goal remains to promote businesses on Main Street by attracting visitors to see what Duvall has to offer. Businesses will offer “show specials” throughout the day and quilts will be hung at participating shops.
The Duvall Outdoor Quilt Show, Inc., a non-profit organization, presents the show. Local businesses sponsor this colorful event.
Anyone can enter a quilt, including children, who get their own division.
Everyone viewing the quilts gets a ballot to vote for their favorite. Awards are given to the “Peoples’ Choice” winner, plus the first and second-place runners-up.
In addition to the outdoor quilt show, there will be an indoor exhibits of “Project Linus” quilts in the Duvall Visitors Center. At this exhibit, organizers will also accept quilts for donation to the local fire and police departments to give comfort to victims of fire, tragic accidents or crimes.
The live music lineup includes, at 1 p.m. Don Duzan’s “10-Piece Bavarian Dance Band” on Main Street, in the lot between Red Pepper Pizza and Duvall Flowers, also at 1 p.m., Tonal Recall in the Duvall Visitor Center, followed by Tinkham Road with Bob Antone, from 2 to 4 p.m. Artists are sponsored by the Duvall Cultural Commission.
In case of rain, the show will be moved to indoor locations.
