On Friday, April 28, six teams met at Timber Ridge Elementary School to compete for the Snoqualmie Valley School District championship in the Battle of the Books.
All year, five-member teams of readers in each elementary school have been preparing for the competition, competing with other students in their same schools for the chance to represent their school in the finals. They each read 12 books, then competed by answering questions about each of the books.
“I had a total of 60 kids who participated this year,” said Colleen McEldowney, librarian at Snoqualmie Elementary School. The SES team of the Banana Book Bunch claimed the district championship in the finals.
Team members include Siri Shetty (Captain), Sana Imran, Sannia Imran, Drithi Pasupuleti and Alex Mclean.
