The next three weekends in Carnation will offer theatre audiences two opportunities for local entertainment, a classic satire, and a Jazz-age muse.

First, actress Denise Paulette explores the life of Zelda Fitzgerald in “Zelda,” a one-woman play, written by William Luce, and directed by Vince Balestri. The wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald, Zelda was also an author, painter, and ballet dancer. Paulette has several times portrayed Zelda’s story of passion, wit, determination, and living in one’s art, no matter the situation.

“Zelda” starts this weekend. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19 at Miller’s Community and Arts Center, 4597 Tolt Avenue, Carnation. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 at the door.

Next, the Sno Valley Senior Center’s Sno Valley Players present “Too Many Doctors,” about hypochondriac Argan (played by Tony Dambrava), and his efforts to find a live-in doctor. Dr. Purjon (Jay Maize) doesn’t know one end of the stethoscope from the other, but convinces Argan that he’s his man. Argan hires him, and promises him his daughter, Angelique (Ann Wassink).

This upsets Angelique’s suitor Cleante (Dylan Smith) who tries repeatedly to win her hand. He is thwarted by Argan until a clever servant, Toinette (Jane Hartwell) comes to the rescue.

Rounding out the comedy cast are Jan Smith as Beline, Tracy Schuster as Angelique’s sister Louise, Fran Carlson as Madam Defois, and Stuart Lisk as Thomas Defois. Tove Burhen is director.

The show runs Fridays and Saturdays, March 25-April 2. Friday shows start at 7 p.m., and Saturday performances are at 2 p.m. at the Sno-Valley Senior Center, 4610 Stephens Ave., Carnation. Tickets are $10 at the door or online at www.snovalleysenior.org
