The Empty Bowls fundraising dinner will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Mount Si High School Commons.
Empty Bowls is a fundraiser to help the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank continue to provide its services to the people of the Valley.
Students from Mount Si High School, Twin Falls Middle School and Chief Kanim Middle School crafted hand-made pottery bowls to donate to the event.
Each attendee at the dinner will choose a student-made bowl, in which they will be served a simple soup dinner provided by local restaurants. Attendees keep the bowls they choose.
More than 200 bowls created by Valley students are expected to be finished in time for the event.
The event is being organized with help from the Mount Si High School cheer team. Janice Wintermyer, assistant cheer coach, said the event was a good way to get the team back into community service and to give back to an important resource in the Valley.
