Examining their catches up close, Thomas McClain Lovelett of Snoqualmie and David Hamilton of North Bend, both age 6, clean fish at the Mount Si Fish and Game Club’s May 7 Kids’ Fishing Derby, held at Snoqualmie Police Station. The 60-plus-year tradition draws dozens of families to the ponds behind the police station. Children with the heaviest fish in each age group get to choose a prize, typically junior fishing gear.
