Dive in and get ready to get messy: The Snoqualmie Parks & Recreation Department is offering “Smart with Art” classes for grades K-5 beginning January 21.

The course is offered by the Si View Community Center and takes place at the Scout building at 38580 SE River Street, next to City Hall in downtown Snoqualmie.

Explore the world of art through the eyes of great American artists. Look at the abstract printmaking techniques of Robert Rauschenberg and design and learn a variety of printmaking techniques. Learn about Faith Ringgold and create handmade fabric collage quilts. Discover the sculptures and mobiles of Alexander Calder and create a moving sculpture with wire and found objects. Discover the pop art movement of Andy Warhol, and create a one of kind painting.

Students will discover a variety of new materials and mediums while learning interesting facts and information about several American artists.
