The Green Snoqualmie Partnership, formed to restore and protect the forests in Snoqualmie parks and natural areas, welcomes volunteers to its next restoration event, Friday, July 14, at the Stillwater Bog in Snoqualmie.
In addition to weekend events, the Green Snoqualmie Partnership is also hosting a few midweek events this year in partnership with the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA, giving plenty of opportunities to spend time outside restoring forests and open spaces.
Upcoming events include:
• 9 a.m. to noon, Friday, July 14, at Stillwater Bog, meet at the Snoqualmie Valley YMCA, 35018 Ridge St. S.E.;
• 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 15, at Three Forks Natural Area, meet at 39912 S.E. Park St.;
• 9 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Stillwater Bog.
Volunteers will remove invasive non-native plants such as Himalayan blackberry and plant native plants in their place. No experience is needed, come dressed to work outside, with sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle. Tools, work gloves, and light snacks will be provided. To RSVP, send email to info@greensnoqualmie.org.
