to play in August

Celebrate America’s musical heritage with the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, in concert this summer at Snoqualmie Point Park.

Sponsored by the Snoqualmie Department of Parks and Recreation, the concert is 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11. The show is free and open to the public.

Led by its Commander and Conductor, Major Keith Bland, the concert will focus on a variety of styles, from traditional band repertoire to patriotic music and marches. Senior Airman Pamela MacKenzie, an experienced vocalist, is featured on several songs.

The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West is stationed at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. As the only remaining active duty Air Force band west of the Rockies, its geographic area of responsibility includes Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Idaho and California. The Band of the Golden West has performed for gubernatorial inaugurations and presidential visits, and at games of the Oakland Athletics, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Raiders, and the San Francisco 49ers. The band has been seen and heard by millions in performances throughout its touring region and on radio and television.
