U.S. Bank employee Cynthia Johnson has been honored with a U.S. Bank Five Star Volunteer Award for exceptional volunteer service. The Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater in Fall City will receive $1,000 as a result. It is one of 126 organizations across the United States to receive an award in the first half of 2005. Recipients of the U.S. Bank Five Star Volunteer Award were chosen based on nominations submitted by employees or the organization for which they volunteer.

Johnson, who works for U.S. Bank in Seattle, has been involved with Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater for 13 years and is currently a board member and fund raising chair. In her role, Johnson writes grant applications and seeks funds from and for theater and forest park projects.

During the last three years, Johnson obtained nearly $4,000 in grants, and this year over $3,500 in sponsorships for its summer productions.

The mission of the Snoqualmie Falls Forest Theater is to promote theater and the arts through stewardship of the forest park. The group’s goals are to provide training and experience in creative and performing arts in the Northwest, a vehicle for interpersonal communication in a natural surrounding of simplicity and beauty, and conservation and controlled development of the Snoqualmie Falls area for public and private enjoyment.
