The Northwest Railway Museum in Snoqualmie is seeking volunteer docents to guide people on tours of the museum’s exhibits.
Docents are an integral part of the visitor experience, leading visitors through an exploration of the museum and interpreting the historic Snoqualmie Depot, Train Shed Exhibit Building, and scenic train ride. Docents help visitors understand how the railroad changed everything.
Those who enjoy history, and working with people and who want to become more involved with the community are encouraged to apply by contacting Cristy Lake, volunteer coordinator, at cristy@trainmuseum.org.
No previous experience is required. The museum will provide the necessary training, six three-hour sessions held on Saturdays in March through June. Following training, docents are asked to commit to one day a month in the role.
An information meeting on the docent program is planned for March 25. For more information visit www.trainmuseum.org.
