Parents of eighth graders in the Snoqualmie Valley School District are invited to attend the Future Freshman Night, Tuesday, March 1, at Mount Si High School.
Future Freshman Night is the primary meeting for parents and guardians to get information about programs, course offerings, and the registration process for the 2011-12 school year.
The program starts at 6 p.m. with an opportunity to meet with department chairs and teacher representatives from all curricular areas.  During a curriculum fair, parents can learn about the full Mount Si High School program, athletics and activities, and Career & Technical Education programs. School administrators and counselors will be on hand during this time.
At 7 p.m., the program will shift to specific information about the registration and course selection process.  The evening will focus on Freshman Orientation to be held in the auditorium, presentations on Advanced Placement classes, Running Start, preparation for college, new graduation requirements, school adjustment information, Special Education programs, on-line grade check for parents, and HSPE Assessment and Intervention programs.
This event is the only opportunity parents and their future high school students will have time to inquire about the high school registration process and receive help from high school guidance staff.
