Morning showers didn’t matter. Children slipped on their rain boots and jackets and grabbed their Easter baskets for the annual North Bend and Snoqualmie egg hunts, held Saturday, April 3, at Si View Community Center and Centennial Field.
In North Bend, children waited anxiously to hear the blow of the Eastside Fire and Rescue truck’s horn, announcing the start of the Snoqualmie Valley Moose Lodge’s hunt. All eggs were snatched up within four minutes.
At Snoqualmie egg hunt, hosted by City of Snoqualmie Parks and Recreation Departments, Sno Valley Eagles Womens Auxilary and the Snoqualmie Ridge Residential Owners Association, volunteers spread out 7,000 eggs, 2,00 more than last year. The Centennial grounds filled as the rain took a break and the sun peeked through clouds.
Two lucky hunters in each age group were given the opportunity to find a golden egg with a slip leading them to a grand prize given by the Easter bunny.
