Nov. 22-23

North Bend window decorating: Join the North Bend Downtown Foundation for Holly Days Window Fest, an event to decorate the windows of downtown North Bend with snowflakes. Supplies will be provided, and students who participate can receive volunteer hours. Check in is at 119 W. North Bend Way. Event is Friday from 1-4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Nov. 23

Carnation Turkey Trot: Carnation’s second annual Turkey Trot 5k run will be at Remlinger Farms. Registration is $40. There will also be a 100-yard dash for kids age 7 and under. Registration is $15. The kids dash begins at 9 a.m.; the 5k begins at 9:30 a.m. For more information and to register, go to runsignup.com.

Alpaca holiday photos: Cascade Rose Alpacas in Carnation is hosting its seventh annual Fleece Navidad every weekend from Nov. 23-Dec. 22. Visitors can take free holiday photos with the farm’s alpacas, but are asked to bring a food donation for Hopelink. For more details, go to facebook.com/CascadeRoseAlpacas.

Pour House comedy night: Pour House Pete’s in Carnation is hosting its first comedy night. Three comics will perform from 9-10:30 p.m. Entry is free; guests must be age 21 and over.

Nov. 24

Snoqualmie Parkway hill race: Snoqualmie Running is hosting its first annual Parkway Hill Climb. The race starts at Railroad Park and ends at Jeanne Hansen Community Park, with an elevation gain of 700 feet over 4 miles. Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for kids age 15 and under. Nov. 30

Santa Limited train ride: The Northwest Railway Museum is hosting its first Santa Limited train ride of the season. The ride is two hours round trip and starts at North Bend Depot before stopping at Train Shed Exhibit Hall. Enjoy holiday decorations, visiting Santa and a seasonal children’s craft. Tickets are $39 or free for those under age 2. The Santa Limited will run each weekend through Dec. 22. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to trainmuseum.org.

Dec. 6

Light Up Duvall: Tree lighting celebration runs 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Depot Park, 26219 NE Burhen Way, Duvall. This event is brought to you by a partnership between the City of Duvall and the Duvall Chamber of Commerce.

Dec. 7

Snoqualmie Winter Lights: From 4-6 p.m. Dec. 7. Celebrate the start of the holiday season by lighting up the night and the grand tree in Railroad Park. Event activities from 4-6 p.m. including a jazz band and children’s choirs, ice carving and selfies with Santa. Tree lighting countdown by a special visitor and Mayor Ross will be at 5:30 p.m. There will also be a holiday light display in Downtown Snoqualmie from Thanksgiving through New Year’s. The light display route starts at the Salish Lodge and Spa and meanders down a pedestrian and stroller friendly walk along the Centennial Trail of holiday trains into historic downtown.

Fall City Festival of Lights: Event runs 5-9 p.m. Dec. 7 as an annual tradition to kick off the Christmas season. Walk through the Totem Garden light display to Aroma Coffee Co. for the perfect vantage point to see Fall City’s Cherry blossom trees light up. Then, enjoy caroling, holiday festivities, and an auction all in support of Live Gray’s Way. Tree lighting is at 6 p.m. There will also be a ribbon cutting ceremony for Pete’s Treefort. The Fall City Holiday Market also runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 7 at Chief Kanim Middle School.

North Bend holiday tree lighting: 5-8 p.m. Dec. 7 in downtown North Bend. Holly Days is all about community fellowship and fun — and Santa hats. Come watch the tree lighting, stay for a cup of hot cider, and dive straight into the Christmas spirit. Event will feature marshmallow roasting as well as a diverse array of organizations hosting old-fashioned crafts and/or activities for children. Keep an eye out for Santa and cheer on local community performance groups.

Christmas in Carnation: Events run 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 7 at the Tolt Commons Shelter Area on Bird Street in downtown Carnation. Santa arrives at 3 p.m., and professional photos with Santa will be available until 6 p.m. The tree lighting is at 4:30 p.m. Local artisans will be selling various items and locally-made gifts for the holiday season. There will be firepits available for making delicious s’mores. Attendees can enjoy a variety of food and beverages from food booths at the event or from local eateries in Carnation.

Dec. 12

Wax, Wicks and Wine holiday candle making workshop: Event is at 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at William Grassie Wine Estates, Snoqualmie Tasting Room. Participants can make two candles and create their own seasonal scent blends. Active class time is approximately an hour, with about a 30-minute gap for the candles to set. Cost for the two-candle workshop is $55, and it includes a free glass of wine or non-alcoholic beverage. Space is limited and registration is available at the event’s Facebook page.
