SmashKart Video Game Tournament: Head over to the North Bend Theatre at 3 p.m. Sept. 21 to participate in a gaming tournament. Players will play “MarioKart 8 Deluxe” and “Super Smash Bros. Ultimate” on Nintendo Switches. Every ticket sold includes pizza and endless popcorn and soda. Doors open at 2:30 p.m., and the event ends at 8 p.m. The 1st place champion will get their name on the marquee outside the theater and earn two VIP tickets to a regular show time of their choice, which includes popcorn and soda. September Chamber Luncheon: Join the SnoValley Chamber of Commerce at their Sept. 25 luncheon to hear an update on the Snoqualmie Casino’s expansion efforts. Steve Aliment & Annie O’Neill with Randy Weeks & The Silent Treatment: Head over to Miller’s at 4597 Tolt Avenue in Carnation at 8 p.m. Sept. 27 for a double bill with Steve Aliment & Annie O’Neill with Randy Weeks & The Silent Treatment. Carnation Farms’ Harvest Market: Join Carnation Farms and several local vendors from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 28 to celebrate the bounty of Autumn! Enjoy hot food and drinks from the farm’s culinary team, take a history tour around its main grounds with their archivist, snap a selfie in a fall-themed photo booth and pick up autumnal decor! Women’s Self-Defense Workshop: Head over to Renzo Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, 385565 SE River St. in Snoqualmie, for its free monthly women’s self-defense workshop from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 28. Classes are open to ages 12+, but Renzo Gracie advises that they will be discussing real and sometimes uncomfortable situations. North Bend Friends of the Library Book Sale: The North Bend Friends of the Library book sale is back and will run from Oct. 1-5. Hardcover and paperback books, children’s books and homeschool materials, CDs, DVDs and audiobooks will be available for sale. Children’s book prices range from 25 cents to $2. The rest will be in the $5 to $20 range. Book sale hours are from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
