The Old Hen Bed & Breakfast in North Bend took first place in its category in the Best of the Northwest Escapes online contest, sponsored by the KING-5 television station.

The Old Hen beat out top-four contenders from Long Beach on the Pacific Coast, Friday Harbor and Deer Harbor in the San Juans, and Newberg, Ore.

The Best of the Northwest poll gauged popularity in dozens of areas, including parks, picnic spots, public gardens and arts and entertainment. More than 13,000 people cast votes.
