Mayor Matt Larson will provide a guided tour of Snoqualmie City Hall, noon Wednesday, August 17. Citizens of all ages are invited to meet with the Mayor in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 38624 S.E. River St.

Visitors will tour the offices on the first and second floors of the building and meet city employees. Larson plans to point out the design features, explain the green building elements, and highlight the art pieces throughout the building, such as Korean celadon pottery, a glass sculpture more than 20 feet high, and many murals.

A photograph exhibit of historic Snoqualmie is currently on display at City Hall with photos from 1890 through the 1940s. See the Snoqualmie Depot when it was brand new, the three-story Kinsey Hotel, the Sunset Theatre, and Railroad Avenue in its dirt road and boardwalk days. There are photos of the town of Meadowbrook, the Snoqualmie Valley School District Administration Building with old-time buses, and many others.

A docent will be at City Hall to answer questions and talk about the exhibit, which is presented by the Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum.
