Bear heard, hunt in the city: Snoqualmie Valley police blotter

Hunting in City: On Friday, Sept. 2, a caller reported a suspicious subject seen in the 8800 block of Weiting Avenue Southeast. He was wearing camouflage and carrying a large bow and arrow. The officers contacted the man and warned him about hunting within the city limits.

Monday, Sept. 5

Outstanding Warrant: At 6:26 p.m., an officer on patrol recognized the driver of a vehicle at the intersection of Railroad Avenue Southeast and Southeast King Street from previous contacts with the police. The officer searched the driver’s records and found that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a DUI charge, and he was driving with a suspended license.

Saturday, Sept. 3

Car Prowl: At 9:35 a.m., a caller reported that someone had stolen a $200 GPS unit from her car, parked in the 34800 block of Southeast Ridge Street. The caller said she may have forgotten to lock the doors when she parked the car at 1:30 a.m.

Hunting in City: At 7:26 a.m., a caller reported a suspicious subject seen in the 8800 block of Weiting Avenue Southeast. He was wearing camouflage and carrying a large bow and arrow. The officers contacted the man and warned him about hunting within the city limits.

Bear Heard: At 12:02 a.m., a resident called police because he’d heard a bear in the woods behind his home, in the 34800 block of Southeast Scott Street. The man did not see a bear, but officers gave him some information on bear safety.

Saturday, Sept. 10

Collision Assist: At 2:27 a.m., police assisted the state Highway Patrol in locating a vehicle that was involved in a collision, in the westbound lanes of I-90, near milepost 34. They located the vehicle parked off the road in some grass, and the driver was intoxicated.

Wednesday, Sept. 7

Nuisance Vandalism: At 2:37 p.m., a resident reported, through the online crime reporting system, a series of pranks played on them by vandals. On Sunday, Aug. 7, a pane of glass in an exterior lamp was broken, and on Aug. 14, someone dragged a hose into the yard and tied it around a tree and other piece of property.

Tuesday, Sept. 6

Cash and Meds Taken: At 11:10 a.m., a woman called police to report that someone had entered her home in the 900 block of Snoqualmie Place Northeast, and stolen both her prescription medications and cash from her purse.

Thursday, Sept. 3

Car Keyed: At 4 p.m., a caller reported that someone had scratched his car while he was at work in the 400 block of Southwest Mount Si Boulevard. The car had been parked in the public parking lot.
