Bereswills celebrate 65th wedding anniversary

Fred and Lois Bereswill of Carnation will mark 65 years of marriage next month.

Fred Bereswill and Lois Fehling were married Sept. 1, 1951, at Sacred Heart Church in Coronado, Calif. Fred served in the Navy from 1948 to 1952 and after his service, the couple lived in suburban Minneapolis for 13 years. They moved to Washington in 1968 and to Carnation in 1998. There, Fred became active in city government, serving eight years on the city’s planning commission and now in his ninth year on the Carnation City Council.

The couple has two daughters, Carol and her husband Douglas Calender of Monroe, Mich., and Christine and her husband Russell Wilderman, of Prince George, B.C. They also have two grandsons.
