The Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum’s latest exhibit showcases the role that the United States Forest Service played in the creation of the local community.

Museum volunteers visited the USFS National Museum in Missoula, Mont., and the Logging Museum in Forks, Wash., to put this display together.  Working closely with USFS personnel, they discovered some important historic artifacts that are now on loan to the local museum.

Community programs related to the exhibit are planned for the coming year, and Mount Si High School students are involved, videotaping and interviewing former Forest Service employees.

The Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum is located at 320 North Bend Blvd. S. in North Bend.  Open hours are 1 to 5 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays, April through the last weekend in October. Winter hours are noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays, November through March, with special access by appointment; call (425) 888-3200.
