The burglars who broke into the Fastan tanning salon in North Bend last week appeared to know exactly what they were doing.

But that doesn’t explain why they had to bash up tanning beds with a hammer during the break-in, which happened sometime late Thursday, Jan. 15 and early Friday, Jan. 16 at 208 Main Ave. N. The burglars grabbed stolen goods worth about $10,000.

“They stripped our stereos, our flat screen TV, all our products — just about everything worth taking. And they got $300 from the cash drawer,” said manager Melissa Morrison.

The thieves tried to enter through a front door without success, then forced a way in through the back door, breaking the motion detectors in the back, too.

The salon’s flat-screen TV was anchored to the wall. So, they smashed the wall itself.

“They took the wall with it,” general manager Trish Young.

The business is offering a reward starting at $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be left at (425) 888-8267. Callers can remain anonymous.
