The preliminary results for this the Nov. 6 general election were reported at 8:23 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Legislative District 5 had two House seats open for election. Republican Chad Magendanz and Democrat Bill Ramos ran for Position 1. Position 2 incumbent Paul Graves (R-Fall City) ran against Democrat Lisa Callan. The 5th Legislative District runs east from Issaquah to the border of Kittitas County and south through Maple Valley and Black Diamond.
In the Position 1 race, Chad Magendanz had 47.52 percent of the vote with 25,590 counted votes. Bill Ramos had 52.48 percent and 28,260 counted votes.
For Position 2, Paul Graves had 46.88 percent of the vote with 25,148 counted votes. Lisa Callan had 53.12 percent and 28,499 counted votes.
Washington votes by mail and ballots can be postmarked as late as Election Day, meaning they could change in the following days. Check back this week for updated results.
