Carnation man released with suspended sentence following crossbow threats charge

William W. Taylor, 49, of Carnation, was sentenced Friday, Aug. 5, on charges of fourth degree assault and then released. He was given a suspended sentence of 12 months in jail, with credit for 46 days served. Further conditions of Taylor's sentence include two years of probation, an order for no contact with his wife, a requirement to complete a state-certified domestic violence treatment program, and a requirement to be evaluated for substance abuse and to follow all treatment recommendations. Sentencing Judge Susan Craighead also revoked his permission to own firearms, until that right is restored by a court order.
