In King County, there are 41 operating farmers markets promoting healthy eating and easy access to fresh, locally grown seasonal produce. To recognize strong consumer and farmer support for the markets, Governor Chris Gregoire, the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) and the Washington State Farmers Market Association (WSFMA) are celebrating Farmers Market Week in Washington August 5-11.
