Three generations of a Carnation family were slain Christmas Eve, allegedly by a family member and her boyfriend.

The killings happened at an isolated home at the end of a dead-end gravel road south of Carnation. Dead are property owners Wayne Anderson, 60, his wife Judy Anderson, 61; their son Scott Anderson, 32, his wife Erica Anderson, 32, both of Black Diamond, and their two children, Olivia, 6, and Nathan, 3, according to reports.

Michele Anderson, 29, and her boyfriend of six years, Joseph McEnroe, 29, who both lived in a mobile home on an adjacent parcel of land owned by Wayne and Judy Anderson, were arrested Dec. 26 after returning to the property, said King County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. John Urquhart.

They are being held without bail. Each was charged in King County Superior Court Dec. 28 with six counts of aggravated murder and could face the death penalty. Prosecutor Dan Satterberg has 30 days to determine whether to pursue the death penalty.

McEnroe was employed at the Issaquah Target store; Michele Anderson was unemployed. The Sheriff’s Office objected to bail because the couple had tried to flee to Canada after the murders, according to court documents.

Around 5 p.m. Christmas Eve, McEnroe and Michele Anderson walked to the home of Judy and Wayne Anderson to kill them, according to court documents.

Soon after arriving, Michelle Anderson allegedly shot Wayne Anderson with a 9 mm pistol and McEnroe allegedly shot him with a .357-caliber revolver at least once, killing him, according to court documents. McEnroe then allegedly shot and killed Judy Anderson. The couple allegedly dragged the bodies to a backyard shed to hide them, according to court documents.
