City seeking nominations for the 2009 Citizen of the Year

The city of North Bend is seeking nominations for its 2009 Citizen of the Year Award.

“This is a prestigious award that the city wishes to bestow to upon people and businesses whose hard work, spirit and dedication make our community great,” said Mayor Ken Hearing.

This year’s winner will be announced at the Dec. 8 special council meeting.

The citizen of the year is an individual or business that has gone above and beyond the ordinary to make North Bend a better place to live, through professional or volunteer efforts, or by an extraordinary contribution to the community.

“We want to honor those who have shown, through their initiative and actions, that they truly care about the community,” said City Administrator Duncan Wilson.

To make a nomination, send a letter detailing what the person/business has done for the community and why they deserve the award by Wednesday, Nov. 18. Please include daytime telephone numbers for yourself and the nominee.
