The performance troupe Ignition brings their blazing brand of fun — fire breathing, flaming swords, darts and whips and a stunt known as the “Nuke” — into action this Friday, April 17, for a Mount Si High School sophomore class fundraiser.

“People should expect to see a show like no other,” Erica Tawney, a Mount Si staffer and member of the troupe, told the Valley Record by e-mail. “You’ll have to see it to believe it.”

Ignition is a group of people with martial arts, dance, gymnastic, and other sports backgrounds who have decided to infuse their talents with fire, Tawney said. “Our martial artists prefer to show off their talents with fire swords, the flaming whip, fire staff, and the fire dart,” she said. “Between acts we will dazzle the crowd with our amazing fire breathers.”

The show starts at 8 p.m. at the grass soccer field at Mount Si. Admission is $5 at the door. The show will last about 45 minutes. Seating is limited, so people are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
