FBI agents, backed up by King County Sheriff’s Deputies, used a battering ram to bash their way inside a North Bend residence during a Tuesday, Nov. 24, warrant search.

Neighbors noticed police and FBI agents converge on an upstairs apartment at the 100 block of North Bend Way about 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers blocked part of Main Avenue, then battered down the ground-floor door to a second-floor stairwell. Employees in adjacent buildings heard shouting and loud crashes from inside the apartment as the search was conducted. Witnesses said officers left with at least one evidence bag, but did not see anyone taken into custody.

Sheriff’s Office Spokesman John Urquhart referred questions to the FBI.

Roberta Burroughs, a spokeswoman for the FBI, said the raid is part of a pending investigation. She declined to reveal what the FBI were investigating in North Bend or release any other details of the incident.
