Sifu Johann Sasynuik performed the first Daoist wedding in Fall City on a sunny Saturday afternoon, May 17, on the banks of the Raging River.

A Daoist Abbott of Fu Shan Guan, Sasynuik wed Adam and Liam Casey Wolfe at the Kung Fu Club of Fall City.

A Daoist wedding altar includes a wooden comb for calming the spirit, a red thread to bind the couple together, a sword for separating all previous ties, rice for prosperity and spirit money to invoke the assistance of one’s ancestors.

Sifu Sasynuik has been performing weddings since 2008.
